Cyber safety!

Police visit
Constable Wansink (our school police) came in to tell us about cyber safety and how to protect yourself on the internet. She told us the cyber safety rules;

  • Never give person details
Name
Date of birth
Address
Home phone
Your after school or before school activities
  • Never give anybody pictures of yourself or family.
Nothing is deleted across the internet.
If you think you have deleted something off your page it isn't gone on someone else's devise.

  • Always be careful of what you post and who you 'friend' or 'follow'.
It's not about having the most 'friends' or 'followers' if you don't know who is looking at your instagram or facebook acount, something could go seriously wrong.

Thrill seekers

Reading

Who is Evel Knievel?

Evel Knievel was an amazing trill seeker famous for his crazy tricks that he did on the motorcycle. His real name was Robet Craige.
1938- 2008 he was 69 when he died he died of IPF which is a serious lung disease that leaves no survivors.

What is a thrill seeker?

A thrill seeker is someone who loves being scared for the fun of it Evel Knievel was an example of a trill seeker he was crazy!

Have you ever done a thrill seeking stunt before?

I have never done a trill seeking stunt and I never will I'm such a scaredy cat!!!

Why are thrill seeking stunts so dangerous?

Because a lot of thrill seeking stunts are not thought out and they push the boundaries of common sense.

Do you think that if someone wasn't dangerous it could be thrill seeking?

I think that for Evel Knievel thrill seeking was jumping 17 cars, but for me trill seeking would be going down the fare fall at rainbows end, that's not dangerous it can't hurt you but it would get the adrenalin going and my heart pumping so I think yes.

Maths challenge

Today as part of maths week we did a maths challenges in groups of 4 or 5, in my group there was Devan, Erin, Jasmine and I.
There activities we did were code breakers, mazes/puzzles and shape naming.
The most difficult challenge was trying to learn about prime numbers and trying to solve them out.
I enjoyed all the code breakers and the 2 fruit burst that my team got because we won!

Wearable arts

Monday
Today I started the skirt with Sophie and we made a bow.
The most challenging part was when I was hot gluing the newspaper to the ribbon .
We found out that it would look better if we cut one of the sleeves off so that's what we did.
At the moment our outfit is not reflecting our element which is fire, because it doesn't have any fiery colors or decorations to reflect our element.
Here is a picture of Sophie and I planing are dress;

Tuesday
Today we have finished our skirt and have hot glued it on to our blue dress (which is the base for our newspaper dress) and we are thinking of ways to reflect are element.
We had the most difficulty trying to hot glue the red and yellow streamers on to the skirt because we had to do it outside and all the streamers were blowing away.
We found out that we were going to have to make the top separately to the skirt so I had to go to Sophie's house after school and we got to work.
Our outfit is now reflecting our element because of the streamers.
Here is a picture of Sophie and I folding newspaper for our skirt;

Wednesday
Today we finished our newspaper dress. Sophie and I both are very exited about the finished product of the dress that we have created.
Overall I fell very proud of what Soph and I accomplished.
The biggest success was seeing the final outfit we loved it!
My most enjoyable part was having fun with Sophie and designing an awesome dress!
The hardest part of the whole three days was when we were outside trying to stick all the things on for the dress and everything was blowing away!
If I was to do this again I would change my element to water, because I think that it would of been pretty cool if we had made a water flowing sort of dress.
I have learnt that plastic and hot glue don't like each other.
Here is 2 pics;
